Marketing and Communication Manager

The German Business Association (GBA) advertises a post as a Marketing and Communication Manager. The occupational qualifications we are looking for are high ability to work, communicate and cooperate in a small team, communicate with the Chairman, the board members and the organization’s 265 members, its partners and co-operators in business fluent English. Fluency in German is desirable but not a precondition. Apart from the  team-minded approach for the internal communication we are looking for a person with a self-reliant and autonomous appearance when it comes to external communication. A university degree and min. 2 years of professional experience in the field of marketing and/or communication are a precondition.
 
Job description

The Marketing and Communications Manager (MCM) reports to the Chairman and the Board members directly hence he/she will liaise and build relationship/communication to/with the Board. Apart from coordinating the GBA team’s internal communication external communication e.g. with other Business Associations and Commercial Chambers, German institutions, members, suppliers and colleagues for GBA’s affairs is the main task. The MCM has to maintain and build contacts with the media, write and distribute press releases and the GBA E-Newsletter. In close cooperation with the Event Manager the MCM has to co-organize and attend events and exhibitions and contribute to and further develop the long-term external relationships of the GBA. The MCM takes special project assignments hence he/she will liaise to governmental institutions for GBA’s affairs, perform other projects, tasks and assignments directed or delegated by the Chairman. The MCM is in charge of arranging and preparing the monthly board meetings and internal working group meetings, taking minutes and keeping notes.

In case of absence, holidays, etc. the Marketing and Communication Manager will represent the Event Manager in her function. 

The Marketing and Communication Manager will access and maintain confidential information at all times. He/she will carefully correct creation of the reports and documents; do correct translations (if any); exercise considerable judgment and discretion in completing assignments; create the reports and documents to the Chairman and the board in time. 

The Marketing and Communications Manager shall at any time have an overview, insight and understanding of the overall provision of Human Resources(HR)/ Administration/ Financial issues, policies and programs for GBA, performance and improvement of systems; Policy development and documentation; Employee relations; Employee and Community communication; Employee safety, welfare, wellness and health; overall HR Administration & Organization.
