The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is a joint association of German higher education institutions, which has as its purpose in promoting academic relations with institutions abroad, above all through the awarding of scholarships. Its programmes are open for all subjects, and aim to benefit foreigners and Germans alike. In addition, the DAAD supports the international activities of Germany's higher education institutions by providing services such as information and publication programmes, advice, support and guidance, and plays an advisory role in the development of foreign cultural, educational and research policy.
DAAD organizes higher education fairs and roadshows to promote study and research in Germany.
The DAAD also promotes the teaching of German language at university level.
The DAAD awards scholarships to Vietnamese students at different usually advanced stage in their studies who want to do their Master’s or Doctorate degree in Germany.
The DAAD provides funding for short term stays for students, graduates and post docs in various programmes.
The DAAD keeps in touch with Germany Alumni and organizes events together with them.
The DAAD gives advice to students who would like to study or carry out research in Germany funded by own sources.
