Germanischer Lloyd provides a wide range of consultancy and certification services for application in the oil and gas, and (petro) chemical, and power generation and distribution industries. These services include appraisal and verification of designs, Third Party Inspection, construction surveillance and management, safety and risk assessments, Asset Integrity and Total Life Cycle Management.
Germanischer Lloyd was founded in Hamburg, Germany in 1867 and now operates over 400 offices worldwide with a total staff of over 2000. The company has been operating in Viet Nam since the mid 90"s.
The German state authorities and numerous foreign government bodies have accredited Germanischer Lloyd for the certification of safety-critical products and equipment. The company"s technical and financial independence is guaranteed by the Technical Advisory Committee, comprising industry representatives, as well as the Society"s Articles of Association that specify the provision of the company"s services on a non-profit basis.
