On 12 September 2013, Det Norske Veritas (DNV) and Germanishcher Lloyd (GL) merged to DNV GL.
The new company DNV GL has started operating as one company with effect from 12 September 2013. DNV GL forms the world’s largest ship classification society, a leading technical advisor to the oil & gas industry and a leading expert in wind and power transmission and distribution. DNV GL also takes the position as one of the top three management system certification bodies in the world.
Both legacy organizations have been operating in Vietnam since 1990’s. We have competent multi-skilled teams working at various locations in Vietnam, including the main office in Ho Chi Minh and further representative offices in Vung Tau, Danang. Hai Phong and Nha Trang Now with the restructured support from DNV GL Head Office in Oslo - Norway and the local Regional Office in Singapore, the new company DNV GL will and can cover the whole spectrum of Ship Classification, furthermore execute and perform verification and certification for basic and detailed designs, fabrication, installation, and the commissioning and decommissioning of oil, gas and industrial installations. The technical advisory services include safety matters relating to conceptual design, material selection, risk and reliability assessment environment pollution prevention, damage and repair assessment, complex marine engineering and much more.
